It has come to our attention through our ongoing monitoring of criminal activities that a pervasive and dangerous scam
is once again on the rise. Criminals are actively targeting desperate and honest citizens,
promising them a "guaranteed" driver's licence without the required tests, training, or legal processes.
MODUS OPERANDI:
These fraudsters operate on social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, and through SMSes, using stolen or spoofed phone numbers.
As evidenced in the attached conversation, they use persuasive tactics: claiming to have "contacts" at traffic departments, offering "quick" learner's and driver's licenses, and requesting upfront registration fees.
They promise a full license for a suspiciously low price, often requesting payment before any service is rendered.
This is not a shortcut; it is a criminal trap that puts your life, your finances, and the lives of every road user at extreme risk.
Placing an untrained, unqualified driver behind the wheel of a vehicle is an act of criminal negligence.
1. YOU BECOME AN UNQUALIFIED PUBLIC HAZARD:
Driving is a complex skill that requires proven competence, quick reflexes, and a thorough understanding of road laws.
An untrained driver does not know how to react in an emergency, how to handle a vehicle at high speed, or how to share the road safely with others.
You are essentially piloting a deadly weapon without the necessary training, making you a direct threat to pedestrians, other motorists, and yourself.
2. LEGAL CONSEQUENCES AND CRIMINAL RECORD:
Purchasing a fraudulent licence is a serious criminal offence.
If caught, you face severe penalties, including hefty fines, immediate disqualification from driving, and a permanent criminal record.
This will severely impact your future employment prospects, your ability to travel internationally, and your standing in the community.

More importantly, you are making a conscious decision to prioritise your convenience over the safety and lives of your fellow South Africans.
The blood of potential victims will be on your hands.
DO NOT BE DECEIVED.
These criminals are persuasive liars.
They have no "contacts" and offer no "guarantees."
Their only goal is to steal your money and move on to the next victim, leaving you with nothing,
or worse, with a license that could lead to tragedy.
HOW TO REPORT THESE CRIMES:
If you are approached by these scammers, or if you have any information about individuals or syndicates offering illegal licences, please report it immediately.
Do not engage with them.
