IMPERSONATION OF OPERATION DUDULA AND SPECIALISED SECURITY SERVICES:
In recent weeks, Specialised Security Services (SSS) has been contacted by members of the public regarding
an elaborate scam exploiting the name and reputation of Operation Dudula and SSS.
A member of the public, Mr. Langa whose identity was stolen, engaged with what he believed to be
the official Operation Dudula Facebook page. This fake page, using the handle “Operation Dudula Official”,
provided a WhatsApp contact number (069 382 7899) and directed Mr. Langa to communicate for assistance.
The WhatsApp communication appeared official, branded as “Operation Dudula – Official Communication,”
and falsely claimed a partnership with Mr. Mike Bolhuis, head of SSS. The scammers promised to resolve
Mr. Langa’s identity theft case for a once-off operational fee of R2,000, accompanied by a fraudulent PDF letterhead document.
THE FACTS:
1. FALSE ONLINE PRESENCE:
The Facebook page “Operation Dudula Official” is fake and not connected to the real Operation Dudula.
The website linked from the page (operationdudulaofficial.simdif.com) is fraudulent.
The WhatsApp number 069 382 7899 is used solely for defrauding victims.
2. FRAUDULENT DOCUMENTATION:
The attached PDF falsely used Specialised Security Services branding.
It claimed SSS would investigate and resolve the matter within 10 working days.
The document included fake banking details:
Bank: Access Bank Limited
Account Name: Specialised Security Services
Account Number: 50301663497
Branch Code: 410105
SSS confirms these details are false and not linked to their organisation.
3. FALSE CLAIMS AND PROMISES:
The scammers claimed they would:
Trace the perpetrator.
Engage with Home Affairs and SAPS.
Prepare legal documents.
Fully restore the victim’s legal identity.
Arrange the arrest and prosecution of the suspect.
None of these actions were taken.
4. INVESTIGATION BY SSS:
SSS traced the operation and confirmed no link exists between the scammers and the real Operation Dudula or SSS.
Miss Zandile Dabula, director of the real Operation Dudula, confirmed awareness of the impersonators and that a criminal case is already open with SAPS.
The scam was launched to capitalise on Operation Dudula’s high media visibility, targeting unsuspecting victims nationwide.
5. EVIDENCE OF WIDER CYBERCRIME ACTIVITY:
The WhatsApp number is also linked to suspicious Google account recovery attempts.
A second fake social media profile (Nhlanhla Lux Official) promotes the same scam number for unrelated “advertising” purposes.
THE REAL OPERATION DUDULA:

Miss Dabula has confirmed:
No affiliation exists between her organisation and the fraudulent Facebook page, website, or WhatsApp number.
The impersonators have stolen Operation Dudula’s name and reputation for financial gain.
They are fully cooperating with SSS and SAPS to dismantle the scam operation.
WARNING TO THE PUBLIC:
Do NOT engage with:
The Facebook page “Operation Dudula Official” with 32K likes / 148K followers.
The website operationdudulaofficial.simdif.com.
WhatsApp number 069 382 7899.
Any person or entity demanding an upfront payment into Access Bank Limited for “SSS services.”
RED FLAGS:
Requests for upfront payments to unknown bank accounts.
Use of unverified WhatsApp numbers as official contact points.
Claims of “guaranteed” legal resolution within fixed short timeframes.
Discrepancies in contact information, addresses, or director names.
CALL TO ACTION:
If you have been contacted by this fraudulent operation or made payments to the scammers:
Report immediately to the SSS Cyber Crime Unit.
Contact Specialised Security Services with all evidence (screenshots, PDFs, bank slips).
Report the fake social media pages to Facebook for removal.

This is a sophisticated impersonation scam exploiting the name and reputation of Operation Dudula
and Specialised Security Services. The perpetrators rely on cloned social media profiles, forged official documents,
and urgent payment demands to create a false sense of legitimacy.
The real Operation Dudula and SSS are actively investigating and cooperating with SAPS to bring the perpetrators to justice. Public awareness and swift reporting are critical to preventing further victimisation.
