URGENT PUBLIC APPEAL: 71-YEAR-OLD MAN KIDNAPPED IN MOOINOOI
Specialised Security Services and the South African Police Service (SAPS) in the North West Province is urgently seeking the public’s assistance in locating 71-year-old Mr. Petrus Jacobus Buys, popularly known as “Bakkies”, who was kidnapped from his home in Mooinooi last night.
The incident occurred between 23:00 and midnight on Tuesday, 23 September 2025. According to preliminary reports, multiple suspects gained entry to the property by cutting the perimeter fence. The suspects then forcibly took Mr. Buys from his residence.
They fled the scene in 2 white sedan vehicles. The specific model of the vehicles is unknown at this time.
A kidnapping case has been registered at the Mooinooi Police Station under case number:
CAS 362/09/2025.
A dedicated team of investigators has been assembled and is pursuing all leads.
We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity or vehicles in the Mooinooi area during the stated time, or who has any information regarding the whereabouts of Mr. Buys or the suspects, to come forward immediately.
