Specialised Security Services (SSS) is pleased to confirm that Mr. Claudio Joao Aires (38)
has been located safe and unharmed.
After days of concern following his disappearance on 27 June 2026, this matter has reached a positive conclusion.
The safe recovery of Mr. Aires brings tremendous relief to his family, friends, colleagues
and everyone who assisted in the search and shared the public appeal.
SSS extends its sincere appreciation to the members of the South African Police Service (SAPS),
the various private security companies, community organisations, neighbourhood watches, emergency responders,
and every member of the public who contributed information, remained vigilant, and shared the missing person notices
across social media and other platforms. Your collective efforts demonstrate the importance of cooperation
between law enforcement, private security and local communities when responding to missing person cases.
Every missing or kidnapped person's report should be treated as a matter of urgency.
The swift reporting of disappearances, the rapid circulation of information and the willingness of communities
to assist often play a significant role in achieving positive outcomes such as this one.
Specialised Security Services would also like to thank everyone who kept Mr. Aires and his loved ones
in their thoughts during this difficult time. We are grateful that this incident has concluded safely
and wish Mr. Aires and his family privacy and strength as they move forward.
