Specialised Security Services (SSS) is currently investigating deeply disturbing cases of heinous crimes across South Africa. These crimes occur across all races, communities, financial brackets, and social structures.

No sector of society is immune.

Many of these matters involve vulnerable victims, organised elements, intimidation,

and deliberate attempts to silence complainants.

SSS encourages victims, witnesses, and community members to come forward.

Information can be treated confidentially and handled with professional discretion.

Protecting the vulnerable is a collective responsibility.

Speaking up is lawful, responsible, and necessary.

Heinous crimes are offences marked by extreme brutality, exploitation of vulnerable persons, or conduct that shocks the conscience of society.
In South African criminal law and criminology, the following are widely regarded as heinous crimes:
- Murder, especially premeditated or aggravated murder.
- Attempted murder involving extreme violence.
- Rape, including aggravated rape and gang rape.
- Sexual assault of minors, including statutory rape and child sexual exploitation.
- Sexual abuse, assault or rape of persons with intellectual disabilities.
- Sexual abuse, assault or rape of elderly persons.
- Incest.
- Bestiality.
- Human trafficking, especially for sexual exploitation.
- Kidnapping, particularly for ransom, trafficking or sexual exploitation.
- Torture.
- Domestic violence resulting in grievous bodily harm or death.
- Armed robbery, especially violent home invasions.
- Terrorism.
- Genocide.
- Crimes against humanity.
- Serial violent offences (serial rape, serial murder).
- Mutilation or dismemberment of victims.
- Sextortion involving coercion, blackmail, or exploitation of vulnerable persons.
- Organised violent racketeering involving severe bodily harm.
