SUCCESS PROJECT: MARK DUFFAR ROBERTS ARRESTED FOR RAPE

A targeted project was initiated by Specialised Security Services (SSS) to assist the South African Police Service (SAPS) following the issuance of a warrant of arrest for Mr. Duffar Roberts, who had been convicted of the rape of a minor.
He failed to appear in court for sentencing on 2 December 2024.

On 13 March 2025, one of our investigators received credible information from a source indicating that the suspect had fled to Zimbabwe.
This intelligence was immediately shared with SAPS and Interpol.
During this process, Mr. Roberts became aware that Interpol was actively seeking him, and he fled before an arrest could be affected.
Further intelligence was received on 21 July 2025, confirming that Mr. Roberts was employed at a business approximately 60 kilometres north of Maputo, Mozambique.
This new information was again relayed to SAPS and Interpol.
A Red Notice was subsequently issued, leading to the arrest of Mr. Roberts on 1 August 2025.
Extradition proceedings are currently underway.

involved for their swift and coordinated efforts, which led to the successful apprehension of the suspect.
