This is an urgent follow-up and success report to our previous public safety alert regarding an ongoing investigation
by Mr. Mike Bolhuis of Specialised Security Services (SSS) into serious allegations of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), harassment, defamation, and the violation of a protection order.
We are pleased to report that owing to the public's assistance and the diligent work of the South African Police Service (SAPS), the person of interest, Stephanus Jacobus Combrinck, has been arrested.
Our primary goal with this update is to inform the community of this successful outcome, emphasise the power of public cooperation in combating crime, and to reaffirm our commitment to addressing gender-based violence.
PERSON OF INTEREST DETAILS (UPDATED):
Full Name: Stephanus Jacobus Combrinck (also known as Kobus Combrinck).
Age: 49.
Gender: Male.
SUMMARY OF ALLEGATIONS AND INVESTIGATION:
The investigation was initiated after the client reported allegations of harassment, defamation, and violation of a protection order by Mr. Combrinck.
The investigation confirmed a pattern of severe and ongoing abuse, which included:
VIOLATION OF A PROTECTION ORDER:
Mr. Combrinck repeatedly violated a final protection order granted by the Cullinan Magistrate's Court.
HARASSMENT:
The complainant was subjected to relentless harassment through hundreds of WhatsApp messages containing emotional manipulation, threats, and demands.
ARREST AND CURRENT STATUS: A SUCCESSFUL OUTCOME
Following the investigation and the public's response to our initial alert, significant progress has been made:
CASE REGISTERED:
A criminal case for the violation of a protection order was registered at Sinoville SAPS (Sinoville CAS 35/08/2025).
PUBLIC ASSISTANCE:
After the initial project was circulated, numerous tips regarding the suspect's whereabouts were received from the public.
ARREST:
This crucial information was shared with SAPS Sinoville, which led to the successful arrest of Stephanus Jacobus Combrinck on Friday, 19 September 2025.
COURT APPEARANCE:
The suspect appeared in the Pretoria North Court on Monday, 22 September 2025.
The case was postponed until Friday, 26 September 2025 and then further postponed until Friday, 3 October 2025, and the accused remains in custody at this stage.
SSS and Mr. Mike Bolhuis extend sincere gratitude to the members of the public who came forward with information.
Your vigilance and willingness to assist were instrumental in this successful outcome.
We also commend the swift and professional action taken by the SAPS Sinoville detectives.
PUBLIC ADVICE AND SAFETY MEASURES:

PRIORITISE YOUR SAFETY:
Your personal safety is the most important consideration.
DO NOT ENGAGE DIRECTLY:
Avoid direct contact with an individual who is violating a protection order or acting aggressively, as this can escalate the situation.
CONTACT THE SAPS IMMEDIATELY:
Report all incidents of domestic violence or protection order violations to the SAPS by calling 10111 or visiting your nearest police station.
If you feel the response is inadequate, you can report the matter to the station commander or the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID).
DOCUMENT EVERYTHING:
Keep a detailed record of all incidents, including dates, times, descriptions, and any evidence such as messages, photos, or witness details.
SEEK LEGAL AND PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANCE:
Specialised legal services can assist with applying for and enforcing protection orders.
Private investigators like SSS can help gather evidence and coordinate with law enforcement.
