MODUS OPERANDI:

Mr. Bewsher purports to be a tour guide booking exclusive locations and destinations.
According to his resume, he will make the booking, accompany the customer, and help the client set up camp.
He will then volunteer to fetch firewood and leave, never to be seen or heard of again.
Lately, he has been making bookings, collecting payments, and cancelling tours and vacations at the last minute.
When the customer requests a refund, Mr. Bewsher refers to a “no refund” clause with a year’s guarantee of a new booking or “your money back”.

INTERVENTION FROM SSS:

The SSS Specialist Investigator confronted Mr. Bewsher regarding several complaints laid against him.
He initially responded by saying his companies were liquidated and, therefore, he was not responsible for repaying any money.
It became clear that he had initiated his own voluntary liquidation.

However, he continued with his advertising and fraudulent activities.

And yet another confirmation from Mr. Bewsher on 2 Sept 2021:
After further negotiations with Mr. Bewsher, he started repaying one of our clients the amount of R50,000.00 after they laid 7 criminal charges against him.
After several additional discussions and requests from our organisation for Mr. Bewsher to commit to refunding the rest of the clients, he still has not returned with any resolution to comply.
SSS will continue in our endeavour to recoup the stolen money from Mr. Bewsher.

We therefore warn the public to be aware of Mr. Taun Bewsher,

a fraudster who continues to and steal money from unsuspecting victims.

Always do extensive and thorough vetting.
