Mr. Hennie Koen is implicated in a series of fraudulent activities, targeting individuals under false pretences,
manipulating trust, and causing significant financial losses. He presents himself as a well-connected contractor and businessman with ties to landowners, building inspectors, and civil engineers.
Mr. Koen has repeatedly exploited the vulnerability and goodwill of others for personal gain.
OUR CLIENT'S CASE:
Our client, Mrs. M. Nieuwoudt, entrusted Mr. Koen with R450,000.00 to build a fully approved and compliant cottage.
Mr. Koen altered the building plans without approval, lied about inspections, and failed to deliver an occupational certificate, which he had explicitly promised.
When construction halted, Mrs. Nieuwoudt had to pay the builders out of her own pocket to continue the project.
Mr. Koen later admitted that he had used her money for personal expenses and offered his Toyota Prado as collateral - a commitment which never materialised.
He also claimed to be waiting for payment from projects in Mozambique and assured her she would be fully reimbursed, but these promises remain unfulfilled.
What makes the situation more disturbing is that Mr. Koen strategically targeted Mrs. Nieuwoudt, knowing she was a woman living alone and having cash reserves from a recent sale of a property.
He carefully gained her trust and began his scheme as soon as the funds became available.
MORE VICTIMS:
Mr. Modou Ndiaye of Pan African Safari, Marloth Park, lost R32,000.00 after Mr. Koen falsely claimed to have land for sale in Mozambique.
Mr. Armand Buma of Building Handyman Garden was defrauded of R27,000.00 in building materials and unpaid work for Mr. Koen.
Mr. Manie Raath rented a property to Mr. Koen, who occupied the house and left without paying the agreed rental, resulting in a loss of R2,500.00.
These cases clearly show a repeat offender who uses charm, deception, and false promises to exploit and defraud. Specialised Security Services is investigating these matters and urges any other victims or individuals
with relevant information to come forward.
The public is urgently warned to avoid any business or personal dealings with Mr. Hennie Koen
and to report suspicious activity to the authorities or SSS for further action.
SSS Specialist Investigators fully supports every victim affected by Mr. Hennie Koen’s actions.
She is working closely with those who have come forward to ensure that justice is served.
SSS will see to it that formal criminal cases of theft and fraud are opened with the SAPS against Mr. Koen.
He must be held accountable for the financial and emotional damage he causes.
We hope this project will prevent other individuals from being defrauded or preyed on by his deceit.
