ADDRESSING GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE AND PROTECTION ORDER
This is an urgent public safety alert regarding an ongoing investigation by Mr. Mike Bolhuis of Specialised Security Services (SSS) into allegations of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and the violation of a protection order in South Africa.
Our primary goal is to enhance public understanding of these serious issues and empower individuals
with information to ensure their safety and contribute to a safer community.
UNDERSTANDING GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE (GBV) IN SOUTH AFRICA:
Gender-Based Violence is a serious and widespread social evil in South Africa, affecting many vulnerable members of society.
It encompasses various harmful acts directed at an individual based on their gender.
This may include physical, sexual, emotional, verbal, psychological, or economic abuse, as well as harassment, intimidation, and damage to property.
The Domestic Violence Act of 1998, as amended, is specifically designed to provide protection to victims of domestic violence and offers legal remedies such as protection orders.
What is a Protection Order?
A protection order is a legal document issued by a court that aims to stop abusive behaviour and protect a person from further harm.
It can prohibit a respondent (the person against whom the order is issued) from committing acts of domestic violence, entering certain properties, or communicating with the complainant (the victim).
Violation of a protection order is a criminal offence.
PERSON OF INTEREST IN ONGOING INVESTIGATION:
We are seeking information related to Stephanus Jacobus Combrinck, also known as Kobus Combrinck, who is a person of interest in an ongoing investigation concerning the violation of a protection order and other related allegations.
Full Name: Stephanus Jacobus Combrinck (aka Kobus Combrinck)
Date of Birth: 18 October 1978
Reason for Public Interest: Mr. Combrinck is currently avoiding the South African Police Service (SAPS) regarding the enforcement of a valid protection order against him.
The client opened a case at Sinoville Police, Sinoville CAS 35/08/2025.
Owing to his avoidance, he has not yet had the opportunity to present his version of events regarding the alleged violations.
His alleged actions, which include harassment and defamation, are being investigated by Specialised Security Services.
IMPORTANCE OF POLICE COOPERATION:
In South Africa, police officers have a crucial role in responding to incidents of domestic violence and enforcing protection orders.
They are authorised to arrest a respondent without a warrant if there are reasonable grounds to suspect they are committing or have committed an act of domestic violence, especially if there is a risk of harm to the complainant.
Failing to comply with obligations under the Domestic Violence Act can lead to disciplinary action for police members.
PUBLIC ADVICE AND SAFETY MEASURES:

PRIORITISE YOUR SAFETY:
Your personal safety is paramount.
DO NOT ENGAGE DIRECTLY:
Avoid direct contact with a person who is acting aggressively or violating a protection order, as this could escalate the situation.
CONTACT THE SAPS IMMEDIATELY:
Report any incidents of domestic violence or protection order violations to the South African Police Service (SAPS) by calling 10111 or visiting your nearest police station.
If the SAPS response is inadequate, you may follow up with the station commander or consider lodging a complaint with the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID).
SEEK LEGAL ASSISTANCE:
Specialised legal services will assist with applying for and enforcing protection orders, as well as with related family law matters.

DOCUMENT EVERYTHING:
Keep a record of all incidents, including dates, times, descriptions of events, and all evidence like messages, photos, or witness details.
