Specialised Security Services is actively investigating serious allegations of dishonesty and possible fraud against
Ms. Tanya Jooste, operating under the name ATP Travel.
Multiple complaints have been received, with the most recent case involving substantial financial loss and reputational damage to a client who booked an international business trip through Jooste in early 2024.
SUMMARY OF CASE:
On 13 February 2024, the client paid R172,300.00 to Ms. Tanya Jooste of ATP Travel for a business trip to the UK and Europe (April 2024).
The amount covered includes return flights, accommodation, transfers, visa arrangements, and other travel-related services.
WHAT WENT WRONG:
Ms. Jooste failed to arrange the required travel visas in time, forcing the client to change to a fully paid business-class flight at personal cost.
Despite promises of reimbursement, no refund was made.
Upon arrival in London, the client discovered that The Cumberland Hotel had not been paid despite having transferred funds to Ms. Jooste.
The client was locked out of the room and had to pay a second time.
The remainder of the European trip — including accommodation in Paris, Eurostar tickets, and transfers — had to be cancelled after Ms. Jooste failed to deliver the required visas on time.
As a result of this delay, our client was forced to cancel the latter part of her journey.
No refund was ever issued to our client for these cancellations, directly due to Ms. Jooste’s non-delivery.
Ms. Tanya Jooste initially offered a travel credit, but this was declined after the client learned, via media reports, that similar complaints had been made against her by other victims, including a South African Ice Hockey Team.
CONTINUED PATTERN OF AVOIDANCE:
SSS Cybercrime Specialist Mr. J.D. Pienaar has contacted Ms. Tanya Jooste numerous times.
Despite several settlement agreements being put in place, which she had agreed to, Ms. Jooste repeatedly failed to honour the payment plans, skipping deadlines and avoiding communication.
To date, the client has only received R14,000.00 back, with a substantial amount still outstanding.
We have reason to believe this may not be an isolated incident.
