SUCCESS PROJECT: KING BINLAKEN ARRESTED

24 June 2024 Initial Project:
Specialised Security Services published details of a case involving an alleged assault at a TikTok-hosted event on 11 June 2024, as reported by a complainant. The published information included the following:
A young man contacted Specialised Security Services alleging that Mr. Jakobus Johannes Jansen van Rensburg (also known as "King Binlaken") assaulted him during an event hosted on TikTok. According to the victim, Mr. Jansen van Rensburg initially lacked an invitation but pressured the organizers into allowing his attendance.
The victim stated, "He basically invited himself because he was forcing us to invite him, and he ended up attending the event."
The complainant provided a formal statement alleging that Mr. Jansen van Rensburg had made unwanted sexual advances towards him.
Upon rejecting these advances, the victim was allegedly assaulted by Mr. Jansen van Rensburg.
A criminal case of assault was registered with the South African Police Service (SAPS) on 11 June 2024 under case number CAS 159/6/2024.
Further allegations emerged from the same event, suggesting Mr. Jansen van Rensburg made similar advances towards other young men. The situation reportedly escalated to the point where one individual had to physically defend himself.
This individual stated in a public video broadcast:
"He kept coming at me. I told him to stop, that I was not interested in his advances because I am not gay and I don't like men that way, but he would not listen. He kept pushing and pushing to the point where I had to smack his glass out of his hand. He then proceeded to stir trouble amongst a group of men—my brother overheard that he was trying to instigate an assault on me. Luckily, my brother intervened, and we were able to prevent a possible situation."
Following the initial report, additional alleged victims came forward with information indicating that this pattern of behaviour by Mr. Jansen van Rensburg has persisted for several years.
27 July 2024 Follow-Up Project:
A subsequent project publication highlighted Mr. Jansen van Rensburg's online conduct, in which he taunted authorities. He claimed they would never arrest him, alleging the cases were fictitious. He supported these claims by presenting a falsified SAPS document that incorrectly stated the case number was registered to another individual.
29 July 2024 More Complainants came forward:
A third project confirmed that Mr. Jansen van Rensburg was under investigation for a range of alleged offences, including:
Crimen Injuria
Gender-Based Violence
Common Assault
Fraud
Harassment
Hate Speech
Obstruction of Justice
Contravention of Section 14 of the Cybercrimes Act
Contravention of Section 15 of the Cybercrimes Act
Contravention of electronic communication laws as outlined in the POPI Act
These investigations were in addition to the initial assault case (CAS 159/6/2024) registered on 11 June 2024 at the Wierdabrug SAPS in Pretoria, Gauteng.
23 September 2025: Apprehension
Specialised Security Services was notified that King Binlaken, aka Mr. Jakobus Johannes Jansen van Rensburg, had been arrested in Randfontein on unrelated charges. We were also informed that SAPS officials from Pretoria were enroute to Randfontein to formally charge Mr. Jansen van Rensburg in connection with the assault case registered on 11 June 2024.
This case exemplifies the importance of cooperating with ongoing investigations and the imprudence of taunting or mocking law enforcement authorities. An individual's status as a social media personality does not exempt them from laws that apply to all citizens.
Specialised Security Services extends its gratitude and congratulations to the authorities for their persistent and diligent work.
We also thank the alleged victims for their courage in pursuing justice despite the extensive online bullying perpetrated by Mr. Jansen van Rensburg.
