On 8 October 2026, suspect Mariska du Bruyn was successfully arrested at the Wierdabrug SAPS
following a comprehensive joint investigation between Specialised Security Services (SSS)
and the South African Police Service (SAPS).
The arrest concludes an intensive investigation into the theft and fraudulent transfer of R1.8 million
from the suspect’s employer, Martinique Property.
INVESTIGATION:
Following allegations of financial irregularities at Martinique Property, SSS initiated an ongoing forensic investigation to trace the illicit flow of funds. Investigators successfully uncovered the modalities used by the suspect to systematically transfer money from her employer’s business account directly into her personal private accounts.
CONFRONTATION AND CONFESSION:
Upon gathering irrefutable evidence, SSS investigators confronted Ms. Du Bruyn. When presented with the comprehensive dossier of collected evidence, the suspect immediately acknowledged her guilt, admitting to both fraud and theft.
When questioned regarding the asset trail and the allocation of the stolen R1.8 million, Ms. Du Bruyn admitted that she had no property, vehicles, or tangible assets to show for the proceeds of the crime.
ARREST AND CONCLUSION:
Following the formal finalisation of all evidence, SSS worked in close synchronisation with SAPS Wierdabrug to effect the arrest. The suspect was taken into custody under Wierdabrug CAS 41/06/26 on the date of confrontation.

and dedication in bringing this matter to a successful resolution.
