On 14 May 2025, KleuterZone was placed under final liquidation by court order.
The liquidation application was uncontested because the founder of KleuterZone,
Mr. Anthonie Bougas fled to Thailand just as the news broke that investors in the company were not receiving their dividends, and they were growing tired of the constant excuses from Mr. Anthonie Bougas.

Based on the publication made by Mr. Anthonie Bougas in February this year, he is aware of the allegations made against him and of the legal processes that are pending against him.
Thus, Mr. Anthonie Bougas is believed to have left South Africa for the sole purpose of obstructing and evading the course of justice.
It is alleged that Mr. Anthonie Bougas is in Thailand with forged paperwork; therefore, he could be using a different identity, and it is possible that he could alter his appearance to blend in and avoid being recognized.
Upon leaving South Africa, Mr. Anthonie Bougas attempted to raise as much money as possible, and from his interactions with alleged victims, it appears that Mr. Anthonie Bougas attempted to move the money out of South Africa by using different bank accounts than those which the authorities were aware of.
Again, showing a blatant disregard for the law and for the investors who invested in KleuterZone.
When Mr. Anthonie Bougas failed to raise money this way, he tasked his brother, Mr. John Bougas, to intimidate, threaten and extort innocent people to comply.
Their tactics went so far as to hire a corrupt security company to physically intimidate and threaten a victim with automatic assault rifles and death threats.

A criminal case was opened against Mr. Anthonie Bougas and Mr. John Bougas in March 2025, after which Mr. John Bougas also left South Africa to join his brother in Thailand.
Another criminal case was opened at the SAPS Commercial Crimes Unit in Thabazimbi with case number: CAS 137/3/2025.
Both Bougas brothers are wanted by authorities in South Africa for questioning, pertaining to several criminal and civil proceedings that need to be finalised.
An investigation is being conducted into properties allegedly purchased in Thailand and Dubai by Mr. Anthonie Bougas with KleuterZone funds.
If it is found to be the case, those properties would have to be made known to the liquidators responsible for the liquidation of KleuterZone.
It has happened several times in the past that individuals flee from South Africa to evade justice and to avoid criminal prosecution. Mr. Bolhuis hereby appeals to the Thai authorities to apprehend and return the Bougas Brothers to South Africa,
so that they can answer for the crimes that were allegedly committed in South Africa.
