Specialised Security Services is pleased to confirm that Mr. Petrus Jacobus (Bakkies) Buys has been found safe and unharmed. Mr. Buys was released by the suspects in the Randburg area of Gauteng after being held for approximately 24 hours.
The incident, which involved the unlawful detention of Mr. Buys after taking him from his home in the Mooinooi area on 23 September 2025, concluded with his safe recovery. However, the suspects responsible have not yet been apprehended. The investigation remains active and ongoing as authorities work to identify and locate the individuals involved.
Specialised Security Services extends its deepest gratitude to the public for their invaluable support and rapid sharing of information, which played a crucial role in this outcome. We also extend our sincere thanks to the South African Police Service and all other authorities involved for their tireless efforts and dedication throughout the operation to ensure Mr. Buys's safe return.

We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity or vehicles in the Mooinooi area during the stated time, or who has any information regarding the suspects, to come forward immediately.
