URGENT UPDATE: THE INEVITABLE CONCLUSION – MR. PEET VILJOEN ARRESTED
Specialised Security Services (SSS) hereby informs the public, past victims, and the authorities of the
entirely predictable situation concerning the fugitive couple, Mr. Peet Viljoen and Mrs. Mel Viljoen.
For more than a decade, SSS has published multiple projects detailing the extensive criminal activities of the Viljoen couple, which included fraud, theft, racketeering, intimidation, extortion, and hate speech.
We warned that the couple was fleeing South Africa to evade justice and would continue their criminal behaviour
on foreign soil. Our warnings have now been validated in full.
The couple's attempt to evade justice by fleeing to the United States has unravelled dramatically.
After being arrested in the USA on charges of organised retail theft, both were detained by U.S. Immigration
and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for being unlawfully present in the country.
CHRONOLOGY OF DECEPTION AND RETURN: A TIMELINE TO DISASTER
10 March 2026:
The Viljoen couple is arrested in Boca Raton, Florida, for Organised Retail Theft, a felony.
May 2026:
Mrs. Mel Viljoen is released from US custody and granted voluntary departure.
26 May 2026:
Mrs. Mel Viljoen returns to South Africa, attempting to keep her arrival deliberately private.
SSS was fully aware of her whereabouts, movements, and engagements while she was residing with her close family.
27 May 2026:
SSS sources confirm seeing Mel Viljoen in Pretoria, contradicting her claims to the media that she was still in the USA.
She later admitted to lying about her whereabouts to protect her privacy, a claim found to be part of a pattern of the intentional deception she has been perpetrating all along.
Later she began engaging the media frequently.
29 May 2026:
16 June 2026:
Mr. Peet Viljoen was deported from the USA after spending approximately 100 days in detention.
Upon arrival at O.R. Tambo International Airport, he is immediately arrested by the Hawks' Serious Commercial Crime Investigation Unit.
Mr. Viljoen remains incarcerated while awaiting his court appearance.
18 June 2026:
Mr. Peet Viljoen appears briefly in the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court. The case is postponed to 26 June 2026 for a formal bail application, which will be opposed by the state.
THE SOUTH AFRICAN CASE AGAINST MR. PEET VILJOEN:
Mr. Viljoen is now facing a formidable legal battle in South Africa.
The charges against him are extensive and severe.
CURRENT CHARGES IN SOUTH AFRICA:
Peet Viljoen faces over 400 charges, including:
Corruption.
Fraud.
Theft.
Perjury.
Forgery.
This includes a multi-million property fraud scheme that was allegedly orchestrated 16 years ago.
Several other unrelated cases are also being investigated in which Mr. Viljoen and his wife could face multiple charges of fraud, theft, forgery, and hate speech.
STATE OPPOSES BAIL:
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has confirmed its intention to oppose bail.
Mr. Viljoen is facing a Schedule 5 offence, and the state requires time to verify the residential addresses provided by his wife.
These addresses will be investigated and confirmed.
The information available to SSS shows that Mrs. Viljoen has had no permanent residence since her return to South Africa and has been staying with her family.
This sets the stage for the critical bail hearing on 26 June 2026.
Mr. Bolhuis agrees that the state should oppose bail for Mr. Viljoen.
Should Mrs. Viljoen also be arrested, SSS believes bail should also be opposed, as the couple is considered an extreme flight risk.
SSS ANALYSIS: THE DEFINITION OF A FLIGHT RISK
The Viljoen couple's pattern of behaviour confirms they are the very definition of a flight risk:
MANIPULATION AND DECEIT:
The couple was aware of their legal troubles in South Africa before they left for the USA.
They lied to the media about their intentions, claiming they were going on holiday to Australia, while in fact fleeing to the USA.
Mrs. Viljoen's recent return similarly began with deception about her whereabouts.
DISREGARD FOR THE LAW:
Mr. Viljoen was previously struck off the roll of attorneys in 2011.
He used racial slurs and fabricated a narrative of persecution to seek asylum.
CLAIMS OF WEALTH:
Mrs. Viljoen's claim of being a millionaire, made just days after her return, serves to undermine the narrative that financial desperation led to their crimes, instead reinforcing a profile of entitlement and calculated criminality.
It also highlights their disregard for the significant financial losses suffered by their victims.
PROVEN PATTERN OF EVASION:
The couple demonstrated their readiness to flee by allegedly falsifying paperwork through willful and deliberate forgery and corruption, fabricating stories, and lying about their whereabouts to avoid justice.
Their return was triggered by deportation, not by choice.
SOCIAL MEDIA DISINFORMATION:
The couple demonstrated their ability to influence the public and the media through the use of social media and AI-generated content.
They have lied repeatedly and have shown that they are willing to use social media to influence public perception.
RACISM, HATE SPEECH AND DEFAMATION:
During their time in the USA, both Mr. Viljoen and Mrs. Viljoen took to social media to defame those who spoke out against them.
Their comments were aimed at degrading their victims, often referencing skin colour, race, sexual preference and perverse sexual tendencies as insults aimed at degrading their intended victims.
A MESSAGE TO THE PUBLIC:
If you have been victimised by the Viljoen couple, register your case immediately.
SSS is willing and able to assist all complainants free of charge to ensure that a centralised case file is presented to the NPA.
Do not believe anything that the Viljoen couple states in the media, as they have been proven to use the media to mislead the public.
Do not get involved in social media posting campaigns and do not buy into the media circus that this couple has become.
Always be professional and always react with facts and purpose.
JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL:
The Viljoens' attempt to outrun the law has failed.
The persistence and dedication of the SSS Task Teams, in collaboration with American authorities and
the South African Police Service, have ensured that the couple will face justice.
The focus must now shift to ensuring that the South African legal system prosecutes them to the fullest extent of the law.
