The arrest relates to the alleged theft of furniture.
It came to light that Mr. de Witt was occupying the Bryanston residence rent-free and was under a court order to vacate the property.
During his occupancy of this property, it is alleged that Mr. de Witt removed furniture from the residence, leading to the current charge.
This arrest marks another chapter in a long history of criminal activities linked to Mr. de Witt, which Specialised Security Services has been investigating and exposing for several years.
SSS COMMENDS SAPS FOR THEIR DILIGENCE AND DEDICATION:

for their professionalism and dedication in this matter.
This arrest is a testament to what can be achieved when the private security sector and SAPS work together with a shared purpose. We commend these officers for their contribution to upholding the law and bringing an alleged offender back into the justice system. This arrest marks another chapter in a long history of criminal activities linked to Mr. de Witt,
which Specialised Security Services has been investigating and exposing for several years.
THE HISTORY OF THE SSS INVESTIGATION INTO MR. EMILE DE WITT:
Specialised Security Services' involvement with Mr. Emile de Witt began years ago, following numerous complaints from victims.
Our investigations have revealed a persistent pattern of racketeering, fraud, misrepresentation, and theft.
Below is a summary of the key findings and milestones in the ongoing SSS investigation.
1. THE FIRST ARREST & THE PATTERN OF FRAUD (2024):
1 March 2024:
Mr. de Witt was first arrested by SSS at SAPS Barrage on a warrant for fraud (Brackendowns CAS 144/01/2024).
This case involved him and an accomplice, Mr. Leon Reece, unlawfully changing the ownership of a client's companies at CIPC and attempting to take control of the associated trust accounts.
Ongoing Cases:
It was established that there were numerous cases opened against Mr. de Witt at various police stations, including Barrage and Vereeniging, with some complaints dating back to 2019.
Victims alleged he sold land he did not own, defrauded a pensioner of a property title deed, and embezzled building funds.
2. RETALIATION AND THE HARASSMENT CASE (2024):
In response to SSS's public warnings, Mr. de Witt applied for a harassment order against Mr. Mike Bolhuis and SSS.
However, in October 2024, Mr. de Witt withdrew the case with costs awarded against him after he failed to file the necessary affidavits.
This allowed SSS to resume its public warnings, confirming the order was merely an attempt to hinder the investigation.
3. CONTINUED CRIMINAL ACTIVITY AND ACCOMPLICES (2024 - 2025):
November 2024:
Further investigations revealed Mr. de Witt's involvement in a wider racketeering operation.
It was discovered that the ID document of another victim, Mr. Jaques van Staden, was used in multiple fraudulent property sales in Sasolburg.
Fictitious attorney letters from "Reece and Kruger Attorneys" were used in these schemes.
July 2025:
SSS issued a public warning identifying that warrants had been issued for Mr. de Witt's accomplices.
It was confirmed that Mr. de Witt was already out on bail for other serious offences (Schedule 6 crimes) when he was granted bail in the Alberton fraud case.
4. THE LATEST ARREST: THE BRYANSTON INCIDENT (MARCH 2026)
The investigation into Mr. de Witt's activities continued, leading to today's arrest.
The latest charge stems from his alleged unlawful occupation of a property at 109 Wilton Avenue, Bryanston, and the subsequent theft of furniture from the premises upon his court-ordered eviction.
