LATEST DEVELOPMENTS: FILMMAKER JOINS FUGITIVE IN THAILAND
New intelligence confirms that Mr. Anthonie Bougas continues to evade justice while actively breaking the law.
He has been joined in Thailand by Mr. Bravin Bonthuys, a former employee of Mr. Bougas’s former brand, "ABS Promosies."

On Monday, 6 April 2026, Mr. Bonthuys, travelling from South Africa, met Mr. Bougas at Dubai International Airport.
They were observed together at the Marhaba Lounge B before connecting on a flight to Thailand.
KEY OBSERVATIONS FROM THE DUBAI LAYOVER:
ALTERED APPEARANCE:
Mr. Bougas has drastically changed his look, growing his hair and dyeing it darker, apparently to reduce recognition.

CRIMINAL ACTIVITY:
While in the lounge, Mr. Bougas was observed opening a bank account under the false name "Pieter" via online banking.
Concurrently, Mr. Bonthuys managed their online banking transfers.

INCRIMINATING CONVERSATION:
Mr. Bonthuys asked if they should "pay again," to which Mr. Bougas replied in Afrikaans, "Gaan net stilbly en sien" (Just keep quiet and see).
Mr. Bonthuys then warned, "Hulle is meer organised hier" (They are more organised here), implying difficulty in conducting illicit activities.

DISCUSSION OF A "HIGH-QUALITY LIFE":
In a recording, Mr. Bougas is heard telling Mr. Bonthuys about the high-quality life they can have in Thailand—if they have the money.
DISREGARD FOR FAMILY AND JUSTICE:
These actions occurred only weeks after the death of Mr. Bougas’s father, Mr. Anton Bougas, in South Africa.
Evidence indicates Mr. Anthonie Bougas left his parents to fend for themselves for months in dire conditions in a small Thai apartment.
He did not attend his father’s funeral, instead using the time to meet with old friends.
In a separate recording, Mr. Bougas tells his mother, Mrs. Rensche Bougas, that she must leave South Africa because authorities will come for her now that he cannot be reached.
He ominously references the wife of incarcerated diamond dealer Mr. Louis Liebenberg, namely Mrs. Dezzi Liebenberg, suggesting his mother could face the same fate if she remains in South Africa.
WARNING TO THE PUBLIC:
Do not assist Mr. Anthonie Bougas or Mr. Bravin Bonthuys with money or any form of assistance.
Aiding a fugitive to obstruct justice is a criminal offence.
SUMMARY OF THE HISTORY: THE BOUGAS INVESTIGATION (MARCH 2025 – DECEMBER 2025)
The following timeline summarises the events leading to Mr. Bougas’s current status as a fugitive, based on investigations by Specialised Security Services (SSS).
Early 2025: The KleuterZone Ponzi Scheme
Investigations began after numerous public complaints about KleuterZone, a company under director, Mr. Anthonie Bougas.
The company was allegedly operating a Ponzi scheme, promising unrealistic returns (up to 62.4%). It received over R1 million from a client without honouring agreements.
14 May 2025:
KleuterZone was placed under final liquidation by the Pretoria High Court.
By this time, Mr. Anthonie Bougas had already fled South Africa for Thailand.
Mid-2025: Extortion, Intimidation & Death Threats
Following a separate business transaction, the Bougas brothers (Anthonie and John) allegedly orchestrated a campaign of intimidation against a client who refused to release R4 million from a trust account due to FICA non-compliance.
Tactics included death threats (mentioning grandchildren), deployment of an armed security team, and video messages.
Criminal cases were opened with SAPS, and the SSS Task Team intervened.
September – October 2025: Shifting Family Allegiances & Public Appeals
16 Sep 2025:
SSS confirmed Mr. Anthonie Bougas remained in Thailand, his financial situation was dire, and he had used manipulated videos to falsely claim he was in Canada.
SSS issued a notice for him to cooperate.
30 Sep 2025:
SSS published evidence of alleged extortion and blackmail by Mr. Anthonie Bougas and his mother, Mrs. Rensche Bougas.
Voice notes captured them demanding money to prevent reputational damage on social media.
2 Oct 2025:
In a significant turn, Mr. John Bougas contacted SSS and offered full cooperation with authorities and liquidators, providing crucial evidence.
16 Oct 2025:
Following Mr. John Bougas' cooperation, Mrs. Rensche and Mr. Anton Bougas also offered cooperation.
SSS warned the public not to send money directly to Mr. Anthonie Bougas, as he misappropriates funds.
Mr. Mike Bolhuis offered to escort the parents back to South Africa if funds were donated through SSS.
PRESENT STATUS (AS OF APRIL 2026):
Mr. Anthonie Bougas remains a fugitive in Thailand, his financial situation reportedly declining.
He is now actively assisted by Mr. Bravin Bonthuys.
Criminal cases for fraud, extortion, and intimidation are pending.
His brother, Mr. John Bougas, and mother, Mrs. Rensche Bougas, have reportedly agreed to cooperate with authorities in South Africa.
