In recent weeks, the investigations into KleuterZone have advanced significantly. Despite being abroad, Mr. Anthonie Bougas, the founder of KleuterZone, continues to refuse cooperation with the ongoing investigations, even though his whereabouts are known to Specialised Security Services (SSS).
Following the publication of a project update on 16 September 2025, Mr. John Bougas, brother of Mr. Anthonie Bougas, came forward and offered his full cooperation with investigators. Mr. John Bougas has since appeared before the liquidators of Kleuterzone and provided critical information to SSS. His cooperation led to a follow-up publication on 30 September 2025, which revealed that Mr. Anthonie Bougas and his mother, Mrs. Rensche Bougas, were involved in acts of extortion and intimidation targeting individuals from whom they attempted to obtain funds.
While Mr. Anthonie Bougas claimed these funds were intended to facilitate his parents' return to South Africa, evidence has since shown that he misappropriated the money for his own purposes. This revelation underscores the fraudulent nature of Mr. Bougas's conduct - he consistently diverts money meant for legitimate causes to satisfy his own interests.
As a result of these actions, both Mrs. Rensche Bougas and Mr. Anton Bougas have reached out to Mr. Mike Bolhuis, offering their full cooperation with the ongoing investigations. SSS has repeatedly reached out to Mr. Anthonie Bougas to encourage him to return to South Africa and accompany his parents, but he has failed to respond or comply.
There is a growing concern regarding the health and well-being of Mr. Anton Bougas, who appears to be in urgent need of medical attention. The dire living conditions in which Mr. Anthonie Bougas left his parents in Thailand are further deteriorating his father's condition.
At the request of Mrs. Rensche Bougas and following her agreement to fully cooperate with the investigations, Mr. Bolhuis has committed to personally travelling to Thailand to accompany Mr. and Mrs Bougas back to South Africa - provided that sufficient funds are available to do so.
PUBLIC WARNING AND APPEAL:
SSS once again cautions the public not to send money directly to Mr. Anthonie Bougas, as such funds are highly likely to be misappropriated.
Anyone wishing to contribute towards assisting Mr. Anton and Mrs. Renche Bougas's return to South Africa should contact Mr. Mike Bolhuis directly and make donations through Specialised Security Services, which will ensure that the funds are used exclusively for their intended purpose.
Upon her return to South Africa, Mrs. Rensche Bougas will be expected to fulfil her agreement by offering her full cooperation to SSS, the authorities and the liquidators in all ongoing investigations.
STATEMENT FROM MR. MIKE BOLHUIS:
“In assisting Mr. John Bougas and Mrs. Rensche Bougas, my intention is not to help them evade justice.
My goal is to assist them in correcting their mistakes by cooperating fully with law enforcement and by doing what is right -
to help bring closure and justice to the investors who lost substantial sums of money.
It is only for this reason that I am considering assisting with their return to South Africa."
MESSAGE TO MR. ANTHONIE BOUGAS:
It is clear that Mr. Anthonie Bougas’s actions continue to demonstrate a pattern of avoidance and deceit.
He has been warned repeatedly that his continued refusal to cooperate and his attempts
to obstruct justice will have consequences.
Should Mr. Bougas wish to rectify his conduct, he is invited to contact Mr. Bolhuis directly —
doing so would be a vital step in the right direction.
NOTICE TO INVESTORS AND THE PUBLIC:
Specialised Security Services calls on all KleuterZone investors who have suffered financial losses to urgently contact SSS and provide the following information:
Proof of investment.
SAPS case information.
A formal written statement.
If you have not yet opened a criminal case, do so immediately.
Our specialist investigators are available to assist with the process where necessary.
All criminal cases are being centralised and investigated by the Hawks in the Western Cape Province.
SSS continues to work closely with law enforcement, as it has in all previous cases, to ensure justice is served.
