URGENT UPDATE: MRS MEL VILJOEN OFFERS FULL COOPERATION
Specialised Security Services (SSS) hereby informs the public, past victims, and the relevant authorities of a significant
and encouraging development in the ongoing investigations concerning Mr. Peet Viljoen and Mrs. Mel Viljoen.
COOPERATION AGREEMENT REACHED:
On Wednesday, 24 June 2026, Mrs. Mel Viljoen made contact with Specialised Security Services and offered her full and unconditional cooperation with all ongoing investigations.
During this initial communication, Mrs. Viljoen expressed sincere remorse for her past conduct and indicated her willingness to present herself to Specialised Security Services with the express intention of cooperating fully with all active investigations.
Mr. Bolhuis welcomed the overture extended by Mrs. Viljoen, noting that this gesture represents a constructive first step toward the ultimate resolution of the matters at hand.
FORMAL MEETING:
Mrs. Viljoen scheduled an appointment to meet with Mr. Bolhuis, which duly took place on Friday, 26 June 2026, at the offices of Specialised Security Services.
During this meeting, Mrs. Viljoen offered profuse apologies for her own behaviour and, on behalf of her husband, Mr. Peet Viljoen.
Mrs. Viljoen further stated that she desires to rectify past wrongs and is committed to cooperating fully with Specialised Security Services and the relevant authorities in relation to ongoing investigations.
COOPERATION CONFIRMED IN WRITING:
On Sunday, 28 June 2026, Mrs. Viljoen convened with the SSS task team to formally confirm her cooperation in writing.
She further confirmed verbally that Mr. Peet Viljoen is in full agreement with her position and similarly wishes to cooperate with all ongoing investigations, though this has not yet been confirmed in writing.
SSS RESPONSE:
Specialised Security Services welcomes the apology and the offer of cooperation from Mrs. Viljoen, as this development will undoubtedly contribute meaningfully toward finalising outstanding investigations and resolving conflicts that are currently pending before the relevant authorities.
Moving forward, SSS intends to engage with the appropriate authorities to establish a mechanism whereby outstanding investigations may be resolved through the full and transparent cooperation of Mrs. Viljoen.
NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC:
The public is hereby encouraged to refrain from discussing these cases, the victims, or the Viljoen couple on social media platforms, particularly in relation to private and confidential information.
Members of the public are urged not to involve themselves in defamatory discussions or social media gossip, as such conduct does not serve the interests of the cases nor the cause of justice.
Members of the public who have valid cases are urged to come forward, as this new development means that they will not be under threat of intimidation for providing their statements, thereby creating a more comprehensive picture of the matters that need to be dealt with.

Any victim who registered a criminal case is encouraged to contact Specialised Security Services to provide our investigators with the case information.
Those who have not registered criminal cases should do so now.
YOU MUST TAKE THE FOLLOWING STEPS:
Contact Specialised Security Services immediately using the details below.
Register a criminal case at your nearest police station (SSS can assist with the process).
Provide all evidence (contracts, bank statements, messages, sworn statements) to SSS so that cases can be centralised and presented to the NPA.
Ensure that you obtain a copy of the case file and ensure that you have certified copies of all documentation in the event of loss or corruption.
SSS will assist you step-by-step with the above.
