TERUGVOER / FEEDBACK - INNIBOS FEES 2026 & VRYSTAAT KUNSTEFEES + OPKOMEND/UPCOMING
VALSKERMBATALJON VERHALE VOLUME 1
Ons het op 19 Julie 2025 die boek Valskermbataljon Verhale in samewerking met Naledi
tydens die Vrystaat Kunstefees, bekendgestel.
Die bekendstelling was 'n reuse-sukses.
Die verkope van die eerste boek het alle verwagtinge oortref.
By elke geleentheid en fees waar boekgesprekke aangebied is, was die boeke uitverkoop.
Die boek het ook die eerste plek op Naledi se nie-fiksie-topverkoperlys behaal.
INNIBOS FEES 2026
Dit was vir ons 'n groot voorreg om op 2 Julie 2026 tydens die jaar se Innibos-fees
oor Valskermbataljon Verhale Boek 1 en Boek 2 te kon gesels.
Mnr. Mike Bolhuis, Mnr. Lieb Liebenberg, Mnr. Krige van Heerden en Mnr. Johan Leech, almal oud-valskermsoldate,
het die verhoog gedeel en op 'n aangename wyse gesels oor Boek 1, asook oor die langverwagte Boek 2.
Die saal was stampvol, en mense het selfs gestaan om na die gesprek te luister.
Dit was 'n besonderse ervaring om saam met mede-veterane en lede van die algemene publiek
te kon kuier en herinneringe te deel.

RADIO ROSESTAD - ONDERHOUD
Op 9 Julie 2026 het Radio Rosestad Mnr. Mike Bolhuis uitgenooi vir 'n regstreekse onderhoud tydens die Vrystaat Kunstefees.
Me. Benita Jacobs het met Mnr. Mike Bolhuis gesels oor onder andere die "Flamingo Project", sy werk as spesialisondersoeker,
asook die amptelike vrystelling van Valskermbataljon Verhale 2.

BARGAIN BOOKS PANEELGESPREK
Op 9 Julie 2026 is Mnr. Mike Bolhuis en Mnr. Lieb Liebenberg ook tydens die Vrystaat Kunstefees
uitgenooi om aan Bargain Books se paneelgesprek deel te neem.
Die tema van vanjaar se paneelgesprek was "Ag man, dis lekker in die army."
Mnr. Lieb Liebenberg het die paneelgesprek gefasiliteer en verskeie vrae aan Mnr. Mike Bolhuis
gestel oor sy ervarings en verhale as valskermsoldaat.
Tydens die gesprek is daar ook gesels oor Valskermbataljon Verhale Boek 1 en
die amptelike vrystelling van Valskermbataljon Verhale Boek 2.
VRYSTELLING – VRYSTAAT KUNSTEFEES
Op 10 Julie 2026 het ons tydens die jaar se Vrystaat Kunstefees weer die voorreg gehad om,
in samewerking met Naledi, Valskermbataljon Verhale Boek 2 amptelik bekend te stel.
Daar het groot opgewondenheid onder die gehoor geheers tydens die boekgesprek waartydens Mnr. Mike Bolhuis
en Mnr. Lieb Liebenberg Valskermbataljon Verhale Boek 2, bespreek het.
Medeveterane Mnr. Theo Kluyts en Mnr. Raymond Ralph was ook saam op die verhoog en het aan die gesprek deelgeneem.
Die manne het van hul ervarings as valskermsoldate gedeel, wat groot aanklank by die gehoor gevind het.
Die saal was stampvol en nadat alle sitplekke gevul was, het mense selfs gestaan om na die gesprek te luister.
Saam met Naledi, Mnr. Mike Bolhuis, Mnr. Lieb Liebenberg, die medeveterane en die lede van die publiek
wat die geleentheid bygewoon het, was die amptelike bekendstelling van Valskermbataljon Verhale Boek 2 'n reuse-sukses.
Die boek het weereens uiters goed verkoop.

Ons spreek ons dank en waardering uit teenoor alle partye betrokke wat ons tot dusver ondersteun het met die vrystelling
en verkope van die eerste boek en gehelp het om dit ’n reuse sukses te maak.

Ons betuig al ons lof, dank en eer aan die Here, ons God, vir Sy veiligheid, sekerheid, wysheid, insig, krag,
voorspoed, gesondheid en onderskeidingsvermoë wat op hierdie projek gerus het en nog steeds rus.
In en deur Hom sal ons ook susksesvol wees met die tweede boek.
VALSKERMBATALJON VERHALE - VOLUME 1
On 19 July 2025, we launched the "Valskermbataljon Verhale" book at the Free State Arts Festival
in partnership with Naledi and it proved to be a tremendous success.
Sales of the first volume exceeded all expectations.
At every event and festival in which book discussions were held, the books sold out completely.
The book had reached first place on Naledi's Non-Fiction Best Sellers List.
INNIBOS FESTIVAL 2026
It was a great privilege for us to participate in this year's Innibos Festival on 2 July 2026,
where we discussed Valskermbataljon Verhale Volumes 1 and 2.
Mr. Mike Bolhuis, Mr. Lieb Liebenberg, Mr. Krige van Heerden and Mr. Johan Leech, all former paratroopers,
shared the stage and engaged in an enjoyable discussion about Volume 1, as well as the highly anticipated Volume 2.
The venue was filled to capacity, with many attendees even standing to listen to the discussion.
It was a memorable experience to spend time with fellow veterans and members of the public while sharing stories and reminiscing about our experiences.

RADIO ROSESTAD - INTERVIEW
On 9 July 2026, Radio Rosestad invited Mr. Mike Bolhuis for a live interview during the Free State Arts Festival.
Ms. Benita Jacobs spoke with Mr. Bolhuis about, among other topics, the Flamingo Project,
his work as a specialist investigator, and the official launch of Valskermbataljon Verhale Volume 2.

BARGAIN BOOKS PANEL DISCUSSION
On 9 July 2026, Mr. Mike Bolhuis and Mr. Lieb Liebenberg were also invited to participate in
the Bargain Books panel discussion at the Free State Arts Festival.
The theme of this year's discussion was "Ag Man, It's Great Being in the Army."
Mr. Lieb Liebenberg facilitated the discussion and posed a variety of questions to Mr. Mike Bolhuis
about his experiences and stories as a paratrooper.
The discussion also covered Valskermbataljon Verhale Volume 1 and the official launch of Valskermbataljon Verhale Volume 2.
OFFICIAL LAUNCH – FREE STATE ARTS FESTIVAL
On 10 July 2026, we once again had the privilege of officially launching Valskermbataljon Verhale Volume 2
in partnership with Naledi during this year's Free State Arts Festival.
There was great excitement among the audience during the book discussion, where Mr. Mike Bolhuis and Mr. Lieb Liebenberg introduced and discussed Volume 2. Fellow veterans Mr. Theo Kluyts and Mr. Raymond Ralph also joined them on stage
and participated in the discussion.
The speakers shared many of their personal experiences as paratroopers, which resonated strongly with the audience.
The venue was filled to capacity and, once all seats had been taken, many people remained standing to listen.
Together with Naledi, Mr. Mike Bolhuis, Mr. Lieb Liebenberg, our fellow veterans, and the members of the public
who attended and shared in the occasion, the official launch of Valskermbataljon Verhale Volume 2
was an outstanding success.
Once again, the book sold exceptionally well.
